RYA Advanced Powerboat Exam
This exam will assess your level of knowledge and boat handling skills for using a powerboat for commercial purposes. |

If you need a Powerboat Advanced certificate in order to
work on board a commercial craft subject to the MCA's codes of
practice, you will need to be commercially endorsed by obtaining a RYA/MCA Powerboat Advanced Certificate of Competence.
You can then work on commercial vessels up to 24m in length, operating
in category 3, 4, 5 and 6 waters - that is up to 20 miles from a safe
haven.
If you wish to book this exam, North 58° Marine can book the exam with the RYA on your behalf, making it a stress free process. The RYA will then send out an assessor to examine you aboard one of North 58° Marine's boats. Alternatively you can contact the RYA directly to organise the exam aboard your own vessel.

Pre Requisites:
- Sea Time: 30 days, 2 days as skipper, 800 miles, 12 night hours. (if you hold the Advanced course certificate this is reduced to 20 days, 2 days as skipper, 400 miles, 12 night hours)
- Basic Sea Survival Course
- RYA PPR Course Completion
- ML5 Medical

- VHF/SRC Radio Operators Licence
